On Getting Punched

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.”

Dear Journey Family…

In a time where everyone is fighting for their rights, we go to Scripture and find out that Jesus’ standards are not at all what this world is trying to push on people.

We are to not resist those who are evil. Harsh, isn’t it? How can we go around being bullied and insulted, taken advantage of?

It’s not fair!

Our God is not interested in fairness. Don’t worry. He will take care of all wrong doing. You just keep shining Jesus’ light.

That was the message last week from the last verses of Matthew 5.
