The Battlefield

'Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. '

1 Peter 2:11-12

Dear Journey Family…

What is your favorite scene of the Wizard Of Oz? There is that scene when the lion jumps out a window after meeting the Wizard and being totally frightened. It so comical, being a lion after all, that he should be so scared.

Pastor Brian gave us the first installment of the 4 week series “Trouble In Oz” where he is giving us a peek of what is behind the curtain of our own hearts according to the Bible. We learned that we can be at peace with Jesus or this world, but not both. A good way to reflect on where we are standing right now with Jesus.

Please join us this Sunday at 10am for the second message in this series. Invite someone to come or send them the link for them to watch at home if they rather do that, here is the link to watch it online.

Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is next Sunday and we are preparing to give thanks to our Lord during our service for the blessing that God has given us in every woman, being that “suitable helper” for men that God established from the beginning in Genesis.

Also remember that on that same Sunday we will have our “baby dedication” which it’s really the parents dedicating and committing themselves to raise their baby under the guidance of Scripture, at the same time that the congregation makes the commitment to support the family in creating a church environment where they can be raised as the Lord commands.

If you know of any family with a new baby that would like to participate in this event, please let us know you can click on the button below

Opportunities

Folks, we have a new opportunity to be a blessing and support someone in our congregation and that someone is Emily Glass. Emily will be working as a counselor at Marmon Valley Farm’s summer camp.

Emily, has been at Journey Church since she was very young, she was part of the first generation of Journey Juniors class, and since then, she’s grown not only physically and intellectually but also in her love and commitment to the Lord and that includes being a counselor at Marmon Valley Farm for the last 3 years, and this year would be her fourth year doing that and even though she gets a small amount of money from them, it’s still small. This means that we get an opportunity to be a blessing to Emily by praying for her ministry and time there but also by helping out with her support during the 8 weeks she’ll spend there this summer. So please keep her in your prayers and if you think the Lord is leading you to help out, please contact Emily at: (614) 800-9638

And that’s all we have for now. Now it’s your turn to let us know what your thoughts are, share a story with us about victory over this world that Jesus has given to you lately, we’d love to hear about it and pray for you.

Please email us to info@journeychurchcolumbus.org.

May your remain close to the Lord’s walk today and everyday

And until next time, thanks for reading.
