Do you know what the word “devoted” means? It doesn’t have to do with “voting”. It has to do with someone who is being fully dedicated to something special. Like when you are playing a video game and you don’t want anyone to disturb you, then you are being “devoted” to your gaming. Or if you are paying all the attention to your school work, then you are totally “devoted” to your work.

This verse tells us that the followers of Jesus of the first churches, were “devoted” to the teaching of the apostles, meaning the disciples of Jesus. They were also “devoted” to sharing with one another and eating and praying together. They paid all their attention and all their focus was on what Jesus called them to do, to love one another.
